Textures and Techniques

These aren't personal stuff - they're (edited) assignments last semester for a particular class.

This one was to create icons representing toys:

This one was a hypothetical illustration for an article on the Bata Shoe Museum:

This one was just an experimentation with photoshop:

Medium: Pen, scanned paper/textures, Adobe Photoshop

And lastly, this one was about strange museums (that actually exist!):

Velociraptor Aliens

In the running for the award "Coolest thing I ever designed".

I made a background for this in Photoshop with some textures I had, but it screwed up the colours massively, so everybody looses. But then, I thought the background was a little distracting anyway, so maybe it's for the best. Here's the other version.

And a bonus: the sketch version.

Fizzgizet Fighters

The Fizzgizet Fighters are my pet super-team. From left to right: Metafiction, Nameless, Cake, Quote and Mouse. I've had designs for these guys for ages, but I went over and redesigned a bunch of them. Mouse is practically the same, as is Quote. Metafiction has a slightly different look, Nameless has a different costume and Cake was completely redesigned from scratch. See also: My deviantART.

Fancy Lady Batwoman and Others

I really enjoyed Rucka's Batwoman: Detective Comics, so you can guess what my reaction was over the week over at project rooftop. Here's what I ended up with:

(Though I know she'd prefer a suit.)

Black Canary

Project Rooftop is something I've been keeping an eye on for ages. When "Canary on the Catwalk" was announced, I pulled up my sleeves and decided to submit an entry.

In my pencil sketches, I also had a cute motorcycle helmet and a behind view, which I kinda wish I had added into the entry. Oh well!

Happiness Fairies

Happiness Fairies

Some cute designs I've been working on. I've redesigned Jude and made some adjustments on Yoko, but otherwise I'm happy with all of them.

The colours turned out pretty wonky on jpeg though! I swear they look better in the ai file.
